Burlington, NJ April 4, 2007 -- Infraspection Institute is pleased to announce a new specialty course, Infrared Thermography for Pest Management Professionals. This 34 hour course was developed in conjunction with leading experts within the pest management industry. Designed for pest management professionals who utilize thermography to detect evidence of pest infestation, this course meets the educational requirements for those wishing to take the Infraspection Institute Certified Infrared Thermographer® exam.
According to Jim Seffrin, Director of Infraspection Institute, “We are very excited about this new course. To date, there has been little formal training available for this relatively new application. Our new course fills this educational gap using the same innovative teaching methods for which Infraspection is famous.”
Mr. Seffrin also notes, “Our new course teaches a variety of infrared detection techniques as well as state-of-the-art methods for confirming infrared data. The course also features Infraspection’s newest application standard, Guideline for Infrared Detection of Pests and Pest Related Damage.”
Jon Grossman, Director of the Integrated Pest Management Thermographers Association, adds, “When it comes to detecting pests and pest related damage, thermography is not a ‘point and shoot’ technology. For Pest Thermographers, proper training is key to accurate diagnoses. Infraspection’s new course will provide Pest Management Professionals with the tools to help ensure success.
”Christopher Seffrin, Co-Director of Infraspection adds, “In order to better serve our clients, our new course will be offered in several convenient formats. Students may take their training at regularly scheduled open enrollment classes or via our convenient, web-based Distance Learning Program. On-site training classes are also available for companies seeking customized training solutions.”
Students completing the Infrared Thermography for Pest Management Professionals Course are eligible to take the Infraspection Institute Certified Infrared Thermographer® exam. This exam is available at the end of the course or at the annual IR/INFO Conference at no charge. Students may also take the same exam at authorized testing centers or via a secure video link.
