IR/INFO 2010 A Resounding Success!

Burlington, NJ  January 21, 2010 -- Infraspection Institute’s IR/INFO conference was recently held in Orlando, Florida. IR/INFO 2010 marks the 21st anniversary for the advanced training conference, technical symposium and technology expo. IR/INFO was attended by infrared thermographers, PdM technologists, and building inspection professionals from around the world who enjoyed four days of networking, learning, and fun in a relaxed, family atmosphere.

Jim Seffrin, Director of Infraspection Institute, states, “We were very pleased with this year’s IR/INFO conference. With 5 short courses and 21 technical presentations, this year’s conference covered a broad array of infrared applications, new equipment and technologies, medical and veterinary applications, home and building inspections, and legal issues. We thank our exhibitors, our speakers and all who attended and helped to make this year’s conference our best ever.”

Co-sponsored by Temperatures.com, BuildScanIR and Process Sensors, Inc. this year’s conference also featured the latest in infrared imagers and software from several manufacturers. Sunday evening’s Beach party was a big hit with fantastic door prizes going to several lucky winners. Door prizes were graciously donated by AC Tools, ACS Thermasearch, Disney Destinations, Flir Systems, IRINFO.ORG, Logos Computer Solutions, Maintenance Technology magazine.
Despite record cold temperatures, several hardy souls enjoyed a round of golf at Osprey Ridge Golf Course prior to the conference on Sunday morning. Maintenance Technology magazine co-sponsored the event by providing gift bags for all. Top honors and bragging rights went to the threesome of Tom Frail, Ed Kochanek, and Bill Kiesel.
Eight hardy fishermen showed off their talent on Crescent Lake by pursuing trophy largemouth bass. High hook went to Infraspection’s Jim Seffrin with a total of five. Several fish, including the day’s largest, were netted by Eric Stockton who also donated a beautiful freshwater reel for the event’s raffle which was won by Mike Montgomery. In all, 18 fish were caught and quickly released in order to prevent frostbite to both fishers and fishes.
Another highlight of the conference occurred on Tuesday when guests were treated to evening admission and a dessert reception at Disney’s Epcot theme park. IR/INFO guests enjoyed several rides and park attractions and topped off the evening with front row seats in a private viewing area for the Illuminations fireworks and multimedia spectacular.

Newcomer Gary Sloan had this to say about his first IR/INFO experience: “What an incredible engaging, informative program your team put together. Great topics with well-prepared speakers giving up their deepest secrets for all to benefit from. Well worth my time and money to temporarily step away from my business to take it all in. Very organized and very friendly learning environment with a staff so friendly and eager to ensure all the attendees were accommodated.”
Bob Byrne of Volunteer Inspection Services was equally impressed and offered the following: “I was most impressed by your professional, friendly and supportive staff. The mix of a close knit, long term professionals with the flavor of a family was most refreshing. I took a long time to enter the business and carefully choose who to take my training with out of concern with going with the very best in the industry. Within the first few hours of conference I knew I made the right decision. From the founder to the clerical staff at the conference, friendly, thoughtful, prepared, high quality people.”
Stuart Raney of Infrared Building Diagnostics, an Infraspection Institute Level III Certified Infrared Thermographer found an immediate financial reward associated with his attendance. “I learned something at the conference that allowed me to accept a project that I previously would have turned down. Works out to 300% return on investment of the registration fee including golf on Sunday.”
Perry Cabrera, Infraspection Sales Manager concludes: “Plans for Infraspection’s next IR/INFO event are already well underway. IR/INFO 2011 will be held at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn January 9 – 12, 2011. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for another fun-filled and informative event.”
