Gas leaks are a common problem in many industrial facilities. Although most gas leaks are invisible to the human eye, Optical Gas Imaging provides a means for visualizing and rapidly locating the source of a leak. Using specially engineered thermal imagers, it is possible to quickly and safely detect leaks or venting of hundreds of different gases. This presentation will address how OGI works, imager selection, inspection techniques, and documentation of results.
This course will enable you to:
- understand the theory and application of Optical; Gas Imaging
- identify detectable gases
- determine the correct imaging wavelength
- select the proper equipment for OGI
- recognize thermal patterns associated with gas leaks and venting
This material is intended for anyone seeking to better understand how to safely conduct OGI inspections. Course is especially relevant for contract thermographers as well as managers of in-house infrared inspection programs.
James Seffrin is a Level III Certified Infrared Thermographer® and Director of Infraspection Institute located in Burlington, NJ. He has over 35 years experience in performing infrared inspections for a wide variety of commercial, industrial and residential applications. He is a co-author of several industry standards and is qualified as an expert witness on the subject of thermography.
The course price includes electronic copies of PowerPoint slide handouts.
Course FREE to full-conference attendees, all others: $99.00
